2010

Well, it's 2010 and it's been 7 months since I've posted! Far too much has happened to update, so a quick catch up!

Jonah has started nursery at a special school and is loving every minute of it, we are so pleased with the staff and the way they are bringing Jonah on!

Reuben has started school full-time which is so scary, where have the last 5 years gone, he is such a big boy!

Still frustrated with the NHS! Still fighting for every piece of equipment! Currently pursuing a special bed and a grant to have an adaptation done for Jonah in the downstairs of our house!

I'm hoping that I may keep the blog a bit more updated from now on!!

Saturday 11 July 2009

it's been a funny few months!

Well, I thought it was about time I updated my blog! After telling you all that we had sold the house, we are about to move on Tuesday 14th July! The house is in a complete mess and there are boxes everywhere!

We are all very excited but very tired especially as we have lots of appointments on with Jonah at the moment as well!

I will have to get some pictures up of the new house when we are settled!

I also became an aunty for the fourth time yesterday, to a beautiful baby boy, born to Ben's sister and husband! Nathan Andrew Caskie, who was a staggering 10 lbs 5 ozs.

A tough afternoon

Hi All

The day started off so well! We went to a special needs support group this morning!

I had been put in touch with a mum in cardiff who's son has no diagnosis and we were meeting at this group!

We had a lovely chat and I also chatted to the lady who runs the group! It was great to speak to people in the same situations as us!

But I got home and have felt really down all afternoon! I think the reality of caring for a child with special needs and the lack of support we, as parents get, has really hit home after hearing other parents struggles!

And all this afternoon I can't see my son, Jonah, the lovely boy, who makes us smile and is so happy! All I can see is this profoundly disabled little boy for who I am having to constantly battle for to get his needs met! A little boy who isn't going to grow up and get married or live independent of us!! I just feel so sad tonight and just wish that my life was normal!

What a brilliant weekend!!

Well, we have had visitors all weekend from Scotland! Ben's sister, husband and son, Samuel came to stay!!

We have had such a busy weekend but managed to also meet up with Ben's brother, wife and 2 children! It was a chance for 5 cousins to meet and play which was brilliant!!!

Jonah thoroughly enjoyed himself watching all his cousins playing!!

Our house has sold!!!

Well, after 7 weeks on the market and 2 viewings we have sold our house! We are in a complete state of shock!!

We are hoping to secure a property that we have had our eye on for a few months which will be brilliant for Jonah!! It has lots of space and potential for extension!!

We have really seen God's hand in everything and are so thankful to him!

5 nights and counting!

Well, we have now had 5 nights without sleep and I am becoming more and more incoherent!!!!

Jonah has brightened this evening and so we are hopeful that he will have a good nights sleep tonight!

We have also had a physio session today which Jonah was none to pleased about and made it perfectly clear that he wasn't happy! It was quite sad in  a way because our physio was talking about Jonah walking! Although she does think he will eventually get there, she also said that it is going to take a very long time! I know this really but to hear it from a professional is hard to swallow and just brings home to me how far behind Jonah really is!

But, hey ho, we keep going and pressing forward and hope to see him sitting unsupported in the not too distant future!!

Getting Better!

Jonah seems to be much happy this evening which is good! It's lovely to see my happy cheerful little fella wriggling and giggling again!
